Qingdao Metro Line 6 is located in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao. With a total length of 30.762 kilometers and 21 stations, it serves as a high-capacity backbone line running through the central urban area of the West Coast New Area.
Through system architecture optimization and function redistribution, the system realizes autonomous train operation with trains as the core subject. It boasts multiple strengths including enhanced system safety and reliability, More intelligent: and more flexible, More user-friendly, Cost Reduction, Easier to interoperate, and Suitable for resignaling project, which can better meet the networking and flexibility demands of urban rail transit operation.
As a new-generation train control system, TACS underwent 8 years of R&D, testing and verification before commercial deployment.Since its opening in April 2024, the TACS demonstration project — Qingdao Metro Line 6 — has maintained smooth and precise train operation. Its core operational indicators consistently outperform those of other metro lines launched in the same period, practically verifying the reliable performance of this new-generation train control technology.
TACS has reached an internationally leading level and won the Special Prize of the 2025 Urban Rail Transit Science and Technology Progress Award issued by the China Urban Rail Transit Association.
