Recently, the China Urban Rail Transit Association announced the award list of the 2024 “Urban Rail Transit Science and Technology Progress Award. Led by Wuhan Optics Valley Transportation Construction Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Optics Valley Tourism Development and Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Fuxin Intelligent Transportation Solutions Co., ltd. (“FITSCO” for short) won the first prize of “Urban Rail Transit Science and Technology Progress Award”.
The Urban Rail Transit Science and Technology Progress Award, established by the China Urban Rail Transit Association, is a nationally recognized social award and the highest honor in China’s urban rail transit technology sector. It focuses on original innovation, key technological breakthroughs, and industrial application.
After a rigorous review process — including online application, formal checks, peer reviews, preliminary and final evaluations — a total of 29 projects were selected for the 2024 awards. This first-prize recognition affirms the technological innovation and engineering excellence of the Wuhan Optics Valley Suspended Monorail project, as well as FITSCO’s core achievements in suspended monorail signaling systems.
Wuhan Optical Valley Suspended Monorail has been put into revenue service in September, 2023, with a maximum operating speed of 60 km/h. It supports functions such as fully automatic operation (FAO) and turn-back at any point to meet the needs of flexible operation and organization of tourism transportation. It has become the first commercial suspended monorail project in China. The project has been widely reported by CCTV, Xinhua News Agency and other mainstream media.
This project adopts JeRail®CBTC, which is independently developed by FITSCO. FITSCO provides deep integration of signaling and integrated monitoring system based on cloud platform, with fully automatic operation （ FAO ） design functions, which successfully supports the safe and efficient operation of this project.
In the future, FITSCO will strengthen R&D investment, attract top talent, and advance technological innovation in urban rail transit. The company will also accelerate the application and commercialization of award-winning technologies to support diversified transportation needs in cities and tourist destinations nationwide.
